This weekend for the first time since November 18, 2006 my mom and I hung out. By ourselves that is. We love to have “girl time” with Gia, myself and my mom but it was long overdue to spend just meezer- Allie time.
On Saturday afternoon, we headed to San Francisco did a little shopping, had a leisurely dinner in North Beach followed by pastries from our favorite Italian pastry shop.
On Sunday morning we got up at the crack of dawn and headed to the Alameda Flea Market. This flea market is known as the best among the dumpster diving and design crowd. It happens on the first Sunday of the month and for eight years we have been saying we were going to go. And on Sunday we did.
We left with a new chair, eight wire baskets, an old school classroom map, a vintage yard stick, antique bread plate and knife, and many other vintage (which Gia informed me means old but awesome) finds.
It was such a great time. And we can’t wait until we head to the Paris flea markets.
